Many people are really confused about how to configure proxy settings for Blackberry MDS Connection Service. Most people are trying to solve the confusion by searching for some tutorials from the internet or blogs but it can not solve their problem because in many blackberry reviews found on the internet, they often find only the gadget reviews and software reviews but they can hardly find a review which tell them how to set proxy in Blackberry MDS Connection Service. Knowing about this, today I am going to share a bit of my knowlegde about the steps of setting proxy server for Blackberry Mobile Data System Connection Service which is usually known as Blackberry MDS Connection Service. These are the steps of configuring the proxy, let’s check it out!
First thing you need to do is when you open the Blackberry Manager, you have to select the “Blackberry MDS Connection Service”, then on the “Connection Service” tab just click “Edit Properties” and then select “Proxy”. Double Click on “Proxy Mapping”. After clicking “New”, you will have to fill the URL expression that will be controlled by the proxy mapping rule into the “URL field”. If you think that you need to write some description of the proxy mapping rule, just type into “Description Field”, I think that writing the description is optional, it really depends on your own decision. Next thing you need to is to double click on the “Proxy String” and again click “New”. Until here, you have just completed about 60% of the whole steps you have to go through. You will now see Proxy Type drop-down list. Here, you can do either of these steps:
• Click on “Proxy”, then double click the “Proxy String” field and change the values in the proxy server name and the port number fields.
• Click “Direct” and then double click in the “Proxy String” field and delete the default value.
Click Ok and after that Click OK again and congratulation, now you have completed the whole procedures of setting proxy to your blackberry MDS Connection Service.
I know that the steps provided in this short review might not be too accurate to be followed but at least you could know a bit of the whole steps to be done to set proxy to your blackberry MDS Connection Service.
